Treasury Records 1,450 Statements Per Minute During Income Campaign Launch: Public Demands Swift Payment

Record-Breaking Income Campaign Kicks Off with Over Half a Million Tax Returns in Just 6 Hours; Notices for Virtual Currencies, Gaming, and Rentals Issued

The 2023 income campaign kicked off this Wednesday with a significant influx of tax returns being presented by taxpayers. By 10 in the morning, the Tax Agency had already received over half a million documents, averaging 1,450 statements per minute, marking an 11% increase compared to the previous year. In a press conference to announce the campaign, the president of the organization, Soledad Fernández, noted that people are eager to receive their returns quickly, driving them to file their declarations as early as possible.

Fernández also mentioned that the Agency will issue 164,000 tax data notices related to online gaming, reminding taxpayers to declare any profits from such activities. Additionally, there will be 948,000 notices regarding virtual currencies, almost three times more than the previous year. For rentals in other countries and property rentals, the notices will total 895,000 and 866,000, respectively.
