Rare Incident: Chaotic Escaped Horses Cause Stir in London

On Wednesday morning, chaos erupted in the heart of London when seven horses and six soldiers from the Household Cavalry were on exercise in Belgravia, near Hyde Park. According to Defense Minister James Cartlidge, two of the five British Army horses that escaped and ran wild are in serious condition, with Vida and Quaker being the names of those in need of medical attention.

The incident occurred when four soldiers were thrown from their horses and five horses broke free, startled by construction noise. Two of these horses managed to escape into the busy streets, narrowly avoiding traffic while causing a stir among onlookers.

Fortunately, City of London police were able to contain the loose horses while an Army horse box transported them for veterinary care. Three unhorsed soldiers were taken to the hospital for checks but their lives were not at risk. The minister assured that incidents like this are unlikely to be repeated as he emphasized that the Army routinely exercises around 150 horses in central London every day.

The London Ambulance Service responded to reports of a person thrown from a horse in Buckingham Palace Road where a Mercedes driver witnessed the commotion. He reported hearing something hit his car, seeing horses near the vehicle and an army rider injured in the mayhem of the situation. One horse collided with a parked tour bus shattering its windshield in this chaotic scene.
