Racing Action Heats Up at Martinsville Speedway as NASCAR Stars Return to Defend Titles

This weekend, NASCAR fans are in for a treat as all three national series will be in action at Martinsville Speedway. The action-packed weekend begins with truck teams racing on Friday, followed by Xfinity teams continuing the short track schedule on Saturday afternoon, and Cup teams capping off the weekend with a Sunday afternoon race.

Last season’s winners at Martinsville Speedway were Corey Heim in the Truck race, John Hunter Nemechek in the spring Xfinity race, and Kyle Larson in the spring Cup race. Fans can expect some intense racing as these drivers look to defend their titles.

The weather forecast for the weekend at Martinsville Speedway is looking good, with partly cloudy skies and temperatures ranging from 47 degrees to 62 degrees. The Cup race on Sunday is expected to be particularly exciting as it features both wet weather tires and racing slicks.

Friday’s schedule includes garage open at 10 am for the Craftsman Truck Series, followed by track activity from 3:05 pm to 7:30 pm with the Truck Series practice, qualifying, and race. On Saturday, garage will open at 10:30 am for the Cup Series and track activity including Cup practice, qualifying, and Xfinity race. Finally, Sunday’s schedule features the Cup race with garage open and track activity starting at 3 pm.

As always, there is a lot of excitement surrounding Martinsville Speedway due to its special bond with winningest cup team in NASCAR history. Joey Logano and Ryan Blaney are among many drivers who have much to look forward to as they prepare for this exciting weekend of racing.
