Promoting Healthy Habits and Wellness: The Alluvion Health Foundation’s Annual ‘Get Out and Play’ Day”.

The Alluvion Health Foundation recently held its annual ‘Get Out and Play’ day at Lions Park in Great Falls, with a variety of fun and inclusive recreational activities for kids. This year was the third time the foundation organized the free, inclusive event, and it attracted a large community turnout.

Teresa Schreiner, director of the foundation, emphasized that the aim of the event was to engage children in inclusive recreational play to promote wellness early in life and foster healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Inclusive play promotes various aspects of well-being, such as psychosocial skills, motor skills, and social interaction. Encouraging kids to play together, problem solve, and work as a team helps create healthy individuals from a young age.

The success of ‘Get Out and Play’ is due to community support. Alluvion Health Foundation collaborated with 16 partners and businesses who share their commitment to serving kids in the community. Deb Sivumaki, executive director of Eagle Mount, praised the initiative for bringing together organizations that work with children under one roof. She expressed excitement about being part of the event for the second year in a row.

Schreiner noted that reaching out to partners and businesses was easy because they also believe in promoting wellness and inclusivity among children. The event will continue to grow and inspire young kids and families to spend time outdoors, interact with others, and be part of a supportive community.

In conclusion, the Alluvion Health Foundation’s annual ‘Get Out and Play’ day is an excellent example of how community support can make a significant impact on promoting wellness among children. By organizing fun and inclusive recreational activities for kids, this event encourages healthy habits that will last a lifetime while also fostering social interaction and psychosocial skills necessary for overall well-being.
