Promising Pitcher Rhett Lowder Earns Double-A Promotion: Cincinnati Reds’ Top Prospect Makes Impressive Debut in Chattanooga Lookouts

Rhett Lowder, a promising right-handed pitching prospect for the Cincinnati Reds, has recently been promoted from High-A Dayton to Double-A Chattanooga Lookouts. Lowder made five starts for the Dragons before his promotion, and his debut with the team in April was nothing short of impressive. In his first four innings on the mound, he pitched scorelessly, allowing only two hits and one walk while striking out five batters.

During his time with Dayton, Lowder demonstrated exceptional talent and skill. He posted a 2.49 ERA and a 0.947 WHIP in 25 1/3 innings, with six walks, 29 strikeouts, and two home runs allowed. His strong performance earned him a spot on MLB Pipeline’s top 100 list in January, where he debuted at No. 34 and currently sits at No. 30.

Lowder’s promotion coincided with that of right-handed pitcher Paul Skenes, last year’s first overall pick, who moved up from Triple-A Indianapolis to the Majors. Skenes is set to make his first big-league start against the Chicago Cubs on Saturday at PNC Park. Lowder, who was selected as the seventh overall pick in the 2023 draft, is now looking forward to continuing his development in Chattanooga.

The news of Lowder’s promotion has generated excitement among Cincinnati fans and baseball enthusiasts alike. Social media reactions have been overwhelmingly positive, with fans and analysts alike acknowledging his progress and potential within the Reds’ farm system. As Lowder continues to climb through the ranks of the organization, he is poised to become an important player for the Cincinnati Reds in years to come.

In addition to Lowder’s promotion, right-handed pitcher Andrew Moore was transferred from Chattanooga to Dayton. As fans eagerly anticipate Lowder’s continued success as he climbs through the ranks of the organization, they are also excited about what other talented prospects may emerge from within the Reds’ farm system in years to come.
