Pittsburgh Summer Staycation: Over 100,000 Free Tickets Up for Grabs at Popular Attractions

During the summer months, a variety of popular attractions in Pittsburgh, including the zoo, Carnegie Museum of Natural History, National Aviary, and Phipps Conservatory, will be offering over 100,000 free tickets. The Allegheny Regional Asset District (RAD) announced that from May to August, more than a dozen regional assets will have dates for free admission. All individuals need is an Allegheny County library card and a reservation to access the free admission. This is part of an expanded Summer Staycation program from RAD.

In addition to the popular attractions mentioned above, other regional assets participating in the program include the Andy Warhol Museum, Children’s Museum, and Heinz History Center. These institutions received feedback from many individuals who mentioned they would not have been able to afford to visit otherwise. RAD Board Chair Dan Griffin emphasized that regional assets should give back to taxpayers who fund these projects by offering free admission dates.

The free admission dates will be available on RADPass.org starting May 1st with more offers being added throughout the summer. It is requested that individuals be considerate neighbors by canceling reservations if they can’t make it so that someone else can take advantage of the opportunity. This expanded program is just one way that RAD is working to make summer fun and accessible for everyone in the community.
