Pitt Freshman: ACC Keeps a Close Eye
Pitt guard Carlton Carrington has been named ACC Rookie of the Week for the second consecutive week. This accolade is a testament to his strong performances in the games against Florida Gulf Coast and Jacksonville. Carrington is now the 12th Pitt freshman to receive conference Rookie of the Week honors, making him an integral part of the team’s success.
Meanwhile, Penn State Lady Lions senior guard Makenna Marisa has been selected to the Big Ten Weekly Honor Roll for her impressive performance against Kansas. In that game, Marisa scored 34 points, matching her career high and achieving her eighth 30-plus-point performance. She sits at ninth all-time in scoring at Penn State with 1,864 total points and her eighth 30-plus-point game ties her for second in most performances of that nature.
In addition to these recognitions, Saint Francis freshman Bobby Rosenberger III has been named Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week for his outstanding performance against Penn State. Rosenberger scored a career-high 19 points and had eight rebounds in that game, shooting 7-for-10 from the floor, 3 of 5 from behind the arc and 2 of 2 from the free throw line.
