The Paul Simon Institute at SIU welcomes prominent business executive from Chicago

Pioneering Ariel Investments: John W. Rogers Jr.’s Visit to Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute

John W. Rogers Jr., a prominent Chicago businessman, is set to visit Southern Illinois University Carbondale’s Paul Simon Public Policy Institute on April 11, 2024. As the founder and co-CEO of Ariel Investments, one of the first Black-owned asset management firms in the United States, managing nearly $15 billion in assets, Rogers has achieved tremendous success throughout his career.

During his “fireside conversation” with institute director John Shaw at 5 p.m. in the SIU School of Law Auditorium, Room 120, Rogers will discuss his experiences in business, public service, and philanthropy. The event will also feature a reception from 4 to 5 p.m. in the law school’s formal lounge. While registration is not required to attend the lecture, those who do will have the opportunity to submit questions for Rogers through the registration form or via email to beforehand.

In addition to discussing his successful career and contributions to the community, Rogers will offer insights and suggestions for SIU students preparing for their professional careers during his talk at Paul Simon Public Policy Institute.
