Tim Mickelson steps down as Phil’s caddie; Phil announces.

Phil Mickelson’s Caddie Tim Mickelson Retires to Spend More Time with Family, Leaving LIV Golf for Next Chapter”.

After nearly eight years on the job, an important member of Phil Mickelson’s team is retiring to spend more time with his family. Mickelson announced Tuesday that his younger brother, Tim Mickelson, who took over as his caddie after long-time bagman Bones Mackay in 2017, is leaving.

When Tim initially became Phil’s caddie, he had recently left his job as the men’s college golf coach at Arizona State to become Jon Rahm’s agent. Under Tim’s guidance, Mickelson secured three PGA Tour wins, including the 2021 PGA Championship. However, since transitioning to LIV Golf two years ago, Mickelson has not seen as much success in the Saudi-backed league.

Despite Tim’s impending retirement, Mickelson treasures the experiences they have had together and looks forward to creating more memories in the future. Although Tim’s replacement has not been revealed, the next LIV Golf event is scheduled for next week at Doral, just outside of Miami. Mickelson will continue to navigate the professional golf world with a new caddie by his side as he competes in upcoming tournaments.
