Overcoming Barriers to Freedom Through Christian Science: A Talk by Nicole Virgil
Nicole Virgil, a renowned Christian Science practitioner and public speaker, will be presenting her talk titled “Be Set Free” on Sunday at 1:30 p.m. in Smith Wilkes Hall, located at 21 Foster Ave., Chautauqua. The talk will focus on universal healing precepts found in the Holy Bible, especially in the life and teachings of Christ Jesus, demonstrating how they are accessible for anyone to understand and experience through the perspective of Christian Science.
During her presentation, Virgil will discuss how circumstances often create obstacles that may seem difficult to overcome in order to live freely. By examining liberty from a Biblical standpoint, she will share how individuals today find freedom from physical, emotional, and circumstantial limitations that may appear beyond their control. Drawing from examples of healing in her own life and professional practice of Christian Science, Virgil will explain why Christian Science is both Christian and scientific, allowing individuals to personally prove its effectiveness as outlined in the book Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures by Mary Baker Eddy, the founder of the Christian Science movement.
Virgil will also discuss the life of Mary Baker Eddy, who understood, confirmed, and taught what she believed to be original Christian healing. Eddy was inspired by Jesus’ statement in the Gospel of John 14:12, where he said, “He that believes on me, the works that I do will he do also; and greater works than these will he do because I go unto my Father.” As a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship for many years now
