OSU Women’s Team Wins Pink Flamingo Championship with Victory over East Carolina

The Ohio State women’s basketball team defeated East Carolina 79-55 in the Baha Mar Pink Flamingo Championship. Led by Jacy Sheldon with 20 points and Taylor Thierry with 14 points and eight rebounds, the Buckeyes maintained a double-digit lead throughout the game.

Ohio State got off to a strong start, scoring the first 10 points of the game and maintaining a 21-11 lead at the end of the first quarter. However, East Carolina’s Synia Johnson led a comeback in the second quarter, scoring eight of her 14 points to bring ECU within 38-32 at halftime. But Ohio State came out strong in the second half, scoring 11 of the first 13 points to take a 49-34 lead and maintained it for the rest of the game.

Rebeka Mikulasikova contributed 12 points while Cotie McMahon and Rikki Harris each had 11 for Ohio State. On the other hand, ECU’s Johnson and Amiya Joyner scored 14 and
