The Baku Court of Serious Crimes has sentenced Iranian citizen Mohammad Gaedi to 12 years in prison on charges of espionage. According to the National Security Service of Azerbaijan, Gaedi was arrested in March last year and “collected information containing state secrets on the instructions of the special services of a foreign state, to the detriment of the security of Azerbaijan, in particular, by obtaining personal data about Azerbaijani law enforcement officers, establishing personal contacts, involving them in cooperation.”
