The Sunday Ticket verdict comes to a total of $14.088 billion

NFL’s Antitrust Case: $14 Billion Verdict Triples Sunday Ticket Damages

The NFL’s legal woes in the nationwide Sunday Ticket class action lawsuit have been a source of confusion, with some initially reporting a smaller verdict amount. However, the NFL has confirmed that the total verdict is $4.696 billion, which triples to $14.088 billion under antitrust law. While the judge still holds the power to potentially toss out or reduce the verdict, for now it stands at $14.088 billion, translating to $440.25 million per team.

To put this massive sum into perspective, this year’s salary cap for each team is $255.4 million. Although this verdict is undoubtedly substantial, it will not lead to bankruptcy or drastic measures such as a bake sale. Ultimately, wealthy owners may experience a decrease in their wealth, but they will still maintain their financial security once legal proceedings come to an end.
