Free agent S Tashaun Gipson suspended by NFL for six games

NFL Star Tashaun Gipson Suspended for Violation of Performance Enhancing Substances Policy and 2024 Season Outlook

NFL free agent safety Tashaun Gipson has been suspended for the first six games of the 2024 season, according to a daily transactions report. The reason for the suspension was not specified, but ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Gipson violated the NFL’s policy on performance enhancing substances.

Gipson, who is 33 years old, played for five teams throughout his 12-year career in the NFL. In 2023, he recorded one sack, one interception and three passes defended in 16 games with the San Francisco 49ers. Despite his successful career and impressive statistics – including a total of 684 tackles, 33 interceptions and 68 pass breakups – Gipson has only been selected to the Pro Bowl once, which was in 2014 when he played for the Cleveland Browns.

The league did not provide any further details about the nature of Gipson’s violation or any timeline for his return to play. It remains to be seen how this suspension will impact Gipson’s future in the NFL and whether it will affect his ability to secure a contract with a new team once his suspension is over.
