Injured Newcastle teenager Miley sidelined for 12 weeks

Newcastle United Midfielder Lewis Miley Faces 12 Week Layoff Due to Broken Metatarsal

Lewis Miley, an 18-year-old midfielder who plays for both Newcastle United and the England Under-20 side, is facing a setback with a broken metatarsal. Although he had an impressive season with Newcastle in the Premier League, making 17 appearances, Miley will be sidelined for approximately 12 weeks due to his injury. This means he is likely to miss the start of the upcoming league season. To make matters worse, Miley had also suffered a back injury towards the end of the 2023-24 campaign.

With just under seven weeks until the season opener, Miley will be unable to participate in any of the club’s pre-season training sessions or matches, including the upcoming tour of Japan in July. Despite his young age, Miley already has experience playing in high-stakes matches, having featured in three Champions League games last season and scoring a goal in the Premier League.

Now that he is injured, Miley will have to focus on his recovery and rehabilitation in order to return to action as soon as possible. However, he will have to watch from the sidelines as Newcastle takes on Southampton at home in their first league game on August 17th. With no pre-season training or matches to prepare for, Miley will have to wait until he is fully recovered before he can join his teammates once again on the pitch.
