New Study Reveals Millennials and Gen Z at Higher Stroke Risk Due to Frequent Migraines

New research has revealed that Millennials and Gen Z individuals may be at a higher risk of stroke if they suffer from frequent migraines. A study conducted by Dr. Michelle Leppert, an assistant professor of neurology at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, examined Colorado health insurance data from 2012 to 2019.

The study included over 10,400 individuals – 2,600 who had experienced a stroke and 7,800 who had not. The results were startling: unfamiliar risk factors like migraines, blood clotting disorders, kidney failure, and autoimmune diseases were linked to the likelihood of stroke in individuals under 45 years old.
