Belgian Dieter Vranckx has been appointed as the new chairman of Brussels Airlines, the airline announced on Monday. Vranckx, who previously served as the CEO of Brussels Airlines, will now assume the role of chairman of the board of directors of SN Airholding, the holding company of Brussels Airlines that is wholly owned by Lufthansa Group. He takes over this position from Christina Foerster, another former CEO of the airline who is leaving Lufthansa.
Vranckx has a long career within the Lufthansa Group and was active at Brussels Airlines from 2018 to 2021. During his time at Brussels Airlines, he served first as financial director and then as CEO. Following his tenure at Brussels Airlines, he became the CEO of Swiss, another company within the Lufthansa Group. He has now transitioned to a new role as commercial director of the Lufthansa Group.
The airline also announced other initiatives and changes within the company, but specific details were not provided in their announcement.
