New blood on the Warriors’ bench: V veteran coach Terry Stotts and NBA All-Star player Jerry Stackhouse join Steve Kerr’s coaching staff

The Golden State Warriors have recently welcomed two new members to their coaching staff, veteran coach Terry Stotts and former NBA All-Star player Jerry Stackhouse. Both are expected to join head coach Steve Kerr on the front bench, with Kris Weems filling the third spot.

Stotts, 66, has 13 years of head-coaching experience and most recently coached the Portland Trail Blazers for nine seasons before joining the Milwaukee Bucks as an assistant last summer. Stackhouse, 49, is a former NBA player who retired in 2013 and has since transitioned into coaching with teams like the Raptors and the Memphis Grizzlies.

The addition of Stotts fills the top assistant role left vacant by Kenny Atkinson, who accepted a head coaching job with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Stackhouse’s spot on the staff was created by the sudden passing of assistant Dejan “Deki” Milojević in February. Kerr initially did not anticipate major changes to his staff, but after Atkinson’s departure, he decided to bring in coaches with previous head-coaching experience to strengthen the team.

Fans can stay updated on the team by downloading and following the Dubs Talk Podcast. With Stotts’ wealth of experience and Stackhouse’s strong leadership, it is expected that the Warriors will have a stronger coaching staff next season.
