On Friday, June 14th, the swimming pool at Parker Park Community Center in Jonesboro, Arkansas officially opened to the public with a ribbon-cutting ceremony. Nine-year-old Sebastian Roblero, who lives near the pool, was excited about the opening and mentioned how easy it would be for him to walk to the pool from his house. The pool features a splash pad, waterslide, diving board, basketball goal, and jacuzzi for parents to relax in while their children swim.
Jonesboro resident Nichole Reynolds and her two kids were also present for the opening day. They expressed their plan to enjoy the pool every weekend and mentioned that having season passes would be ideal for them to swim regularly. Jonesboro Mayor Harold Copenhaver announced that a second HAWK light will be installed on Church Street near the community center in the future.
The pool will be open every day from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m., and the entry fee is $6 for adults (16+) and $4 for kids 15 years old and younger. Children under 15 must be accompanied by someone 18 or older. The new addition to Parker Park Community Center is sure to bring joy to many families in Jonesboro this summer season.
