A $30 million multi-use sports complex is set to be built in Marion, Illinois, after the city council and Williamson County board of commissioners recently signed a joint agreement with Oasis Sports. The facility will be able to host local and traveling baseball, softball, and soccer teams.
Located behind the former Illinois Star Center Mall, just west of Interstate 57 in Marion, the sports complex will be a game-changer for the city. In addition to finalizing the agreement, new hotel tax ordinances were passed to help cover the financing for the project. The entire complex is expected to be completed by spring 2025.
Residents can look forward to a state-of-the-art sports facility that will benefit the community for years to come. With construction underway, Marion is sure to become a hub for sports in the region, providing much-needed space for teams to compete and bringing in revenue to the area.
