Grant Cycle Launched by Nantahala Health Foundation to Support Youth

Nantahala Health Foundation Invests in Programs to Improve Health and Well-Being of Children and Young Adults in Western North Carolina

The Nantahala Health Foundation is launching a new competitive grant opportunity on July 1, with a focus on investing in educational, healthcare, and workforce programs that benefit youth and young adults aged 5 to 24. The foundation recognizes that children and young adults need a sense of belonging, community, healthy relationships, quality healthcare, and access to education as well as job opportunities as they enter adulthood.

Executive Director Lori Bailey highlighted the foundation’s commitment to improving health and well-being for all since 2019. This year, the foundation is shifting its focus to children and young adults to bring about measurable positive change. Over the past five years, the foundation’s grantmaking efforts have invested nearly $3.5 million into regional programs and have mobilized over $15 million for improved health outcomes. In the upcoming grant cycle set to open on July 1, up to $300,000 in additional grant dollars will be invested in the region.

Interested agency representatives are encouraged to attend an in-person presentation on July 1 in Franklin or Murphy to learn more about the funding priorities and application details. Sessions require registration for adequate space. The foundation is also seeking public support by raising $50,000 by the end of the year from individuals and business leaders who share their values and want to contribute to improving the lives of young citizens.
