Second Regional CEO Pitch Showcases Young Entrepreneurs’ Business Ideas

Mt. Sterling’s Regional CEO Pitch event: Fostering Responsibility and Entrepreneurship in High School Students

In Mt. Sterling, Illinois, the Regional CEO Pitch event took place for its second year, featuring young entrepreneurs from the multi-county CEO program. High school students from McDonough, Hancock, Pike, Brown and Schuyler counties showcased their business ideas to a panel of three judges. The program aims to teach students responsibility and dedication while emphasizing the importance of maturity.

One participant, Maycie McCombs, creator of Maycie’s Meals, highlighted the seriousness of the program stating that it is not just for fun. Similarly, Karly Gallaher, founder of Karly’s Kare, found the experience valuable in developing her communication and life skills.

The judges awarded Justice Keene first place for his local broadcast “Bomber Sports Network”, Karly Gallaher took home second place for her senior home health care service “Karly’s Kare” and Wesley McEwan received third place for his 3D printing service “Dream 3D”. These young entrepreneurs will have another opportunity to showcase their businesses at a trade show on April 12 at Crossing Camp in Rushville, Illinois which is open to the public.
