Microchip Technology Incorporated Appoints Veteran Executive Richard J. Simoncic as New Chief Operating Officer

Richard J. Simoncic has been appointed as the new Chief Operating Officer at Microchip Technology Incorporated, effective April 1, 2024. With a long history at the company, Simoncic has steadily risen through the ranks since joining in 1990, most recently serving as Executive Vice President. He will now be working closely with President and CEO Ganesh Moorthy.

This strategic decision comes as Senior Vice President Stephen V. Drehobl is set to retire on June 7, 2024. The appointment of Simoncic ensures that there will be continuity and experience in Microchip Technology’s leadership.
