Marquette Junior Hockey and Northern Michigan University Announce Partnership | Sports, News, Jobs
Northern Michigan University (NMU) and Marquette Junior Hockey have partnered to provide benefits for the youth hockey program, including designating one of its hockey games as Youth Hockey Night, providing 20 complimentary tickets for each home game, and advertising Marquette Junior Hockey in the Wildcats’ home Berry Events Center.
In addition to these benefits, NMU will also provide fundraising opportunities for the youth hockey organization, such as being group game ushers, 50-50 raffle ticket sellers and chuck-a-puck sellers. This partnership is expected to enhance the development of MJH players and coaches by bringing NMU hockey coaches and players into activities.
“We are excited to partner with Marquette Junior Hockey and are committed to helping grow the sport and develop young players locally,” said Comley, a former NMU head hockey coach himself. “This is a win-win partnership and we look forward to building the game and making memories for athletes and their families.”
Marquette Junior Hockey President Ryan Higbie expressed his gratitude for this agreement: “Marquette Junior Hockey appreciates the opportunities and visibility this agreement will provide for our players,” he said in a recent news release. “We’d like to thank Coach Potulny and Comley for their enthusiasm for this partnership and look forward to a great season.”
