On the morning of July 4th, LSU received a big commitment from four-star defensive tackle Zion Williams from Lufkin, Texas. The 6-foot-4, 330-pound prospect announced his decision to pledge to the Tigers just before 8 am CT. Williams is ranked as the No. 20 defensive tackle in his class and had offers from top programs like Texas, Alabama, Georgia, Texas A&M, USC, Florida, TCU, and Arkansas. However, he ultimately chose LSU.
The Tigers’ 2025 class now has 13 commitments, with all but one being four-stars or better. Their class is currently ranked No. 11 in the Recruiting Team Rankings, with LSU having the fewest commitments of any team in the top-11. Joining Williams in the Tigers’ 2025 class is four-star defensive end LaJesse Harrold, making it two defensive linemen in the haul so far. LSU has focused more on the offensive side of the ball in this recruiting cycle, with nine offensive commitments compared to just four defensive commitments.
