A prominent figure in Philadelphia sports for over four decades, Howard Eskin has been banned from the Phillies’ home park for the rest of the MLB season. The decision was made following an incident involving an unwelcome advance towards a stadium employee that occurred in May. Audacy, the parent company of WIP radio where Eskin hosts his show, issued a statement regarding the matter. According to NBC 10 Philadelphia, the statement said, “We take these matters very seriously. We immediately investigated and took action to address the matter.”
Following the investigation, it was determined that a suspension was warranted for Eskin. The 73-year-old has been a polarizing figure in the Philadelphia sports community since he first appeared on both radio and television in the 1980s. Despite his influence and divisiveness, Eskin’s presence in the sports media industry has been significant, earning him a reputation as one of the most influential figures in Philadelphia sports.
