Local Nurse Shannon Proulx Leads by Example: Employee of the Month, Ice Fishing Enthusiast and Mentee to Dr. Bosun Fashoro

Shannon Proulx, LPN at RiverView Health’s Internal Medicine Department, has demonstrated the importance of individual commitment to a group effort. Her journey began in high school when she started working in the dietary department and eventually became an LPN. Shannon then spent five years at Glenmore Recovery (now RiverView Recovery Center) before transitioning to her current role at RiverView’s Crookston Clinic. Despite starting at the clinic, Shannon continued to work weekends at Glenmore for a few more years, showcasing her strong work ethic and commitment to helping others.

As a native and resident of Crookston, Shannon shares her life with her significant other, Nate Magsam, and their blended family. The couple has children ranging from 16 to 24 years old, as well as their dog, Nelly. In her free time, Shannon enjoys ice fishing, running, and walking Nelly while cherishing moments with her loved ones. Recently recognized as Employee of the Month for May, Shannon expressed her surprise and gratitude for the award. She attributes her success to Dr. Bosun Fashoro’s mentorship and credits him with teaching valuable lessons over the years.

Shannon’s dedication to teamwork and providing excellent care make her a valuable asset to RiverView Health. As Vince Lombardi once said: “Individual commitment to a group effort is what drives success in a team.” This sentiment rings true with Shannon Proulx as she continues to lead by example in both her personal and professional life.
