Lions counter 49ers’ offer sheet for Brock Wright

Lions Match Offer Sheet to Retain Tight End Brock Wright, Securing Key Position for 2024 Season

The Lions have announced that they will be matching the restricted free agent offer sheet signed by tight end Brock Wright with the 49ers. This decision will keep Wright on their roster and prevent him from leaving for their NFC Championship Game opponents. The deal is reportedly for three years and worth $12 million, with $6 million guaranteed. This is a significant increase from the Lions’ original restricted free agent tender of $2.985 million.

By matching the offer, Wright will not have to adjust to a new offensive scheme ahead of the 2024 season. He has played in 41 games for the Lions over the last three seasons, accumulating 43 catches for 424 yards and seven touchdowns. Wright will continue to team up with Sam LaPorta as the top tight ends in Tennessee. This move will help the Lions maintain their strength at this key position and provide stability for their offense moving forward.
