Lakewood Church Shooting: Off-Duty Police Officer Injures Man and Boy in Alleged Bomb Threat Attack

A 57-year-old man was injured and a young boy, approximately 5 years old, was shot and seriously injured in a shooting attack at Lakewood Church in Houston, Texas around 1:45pm local time. The woman who carried out the attack was an off-duty police officer, according to Joel Osteen, co-founder of the megachurch.

The woman entered the church with the young boy, claiming to have a bomb and threatening those present. However, no explosives were found. She was reportedly carrying a rifle at the time of the incident and wearing a coat and backpack.
