Konecranes Secures Deal to Modernize Overhead Crane in Sweden
In the reactor hall of the Oskarshamn nuclear power plant in Sweden, a bridge crane is used to ensure strict regulatory requirements are met during maintenance and the removal of spent nuclear fuel transport tanks. Konecranes, a lifting equipment company, has been tasked with updating this crane as part of a two-year contract that includes design, manufacturing, supply, and installation of modernization components. The order for this contract was booked in the fourth quarter of 2023 and will include a new 165-ton trolley lift.
