U.S. News & World Report has recently released its rankings of the top high schools in the United States, with over 200 Kentucky schools making the list. The publication assessed factors such as college readiness, graduation rates, and state assessment proficiency for nearly 25,000 schools to determine the rankings. Despite criticism over its methodology for favoring wealthier communities, as reported by the Detroit Free Press, Kentucky schools were well-represented in the rankings.
Among the recognized Kentucky schools, 28 JCPS magnet schools and programs will no longer receive busing. The list of top schools included a variety of institutions from different areas of the state. In Kentucky, the top ten high schools according to U.S. News & World Report were highlighted. In addition to this, the best public high schools in Lexington were identified based on the ranking criteria.
In Louisville, meanwhile, the top ten public high schools were also noted in U.S. News & World Report’s rankings. While there may be concerns about potential biases in these rankings, it’s important to note that they can provide valuable information for students and families looking to choose a school that meets their needs and expectations for education quality and preparation for college success
