OCIOR Energy in India chooses KBR’s green ammonia technology

KBR’s Green Ammonia Technology Set to Drive Sustainability in Odisha, India with OCIOR Energy’s New Plant Launch

OCIOR Energy has announced the launch of its new green ammonia plant in the Gopalpur region of Odisha, India. The company has selected KBR’s green ammonia technology, known as K-GreeN®, for the project, marking the 10th globally licensed green ammonia plant by KBR and the first in India.

Under the agreement, KBR will provide OCIOR with a technology license, engineering design, equipment, and catalyst solutions for a green ammonia plant with a capacity of 600 tpd. The company will also assist OCIOR in achieving the optimal levelised cost of ammonia production. Jay Ibrahim, President of KBR Sustainable Technology Solutions, expressed excitement about supporting OCIOR Energy in this significant project. According to him, it will aid the region in achieving its decarbonization goals through the use of the K-GreeN solution.

OCIOR Energy’s CEO Ranjit Gupta explained that their green ammonia project aims to establish a benchmark for reliable green fuel production. With confidence in KBR’s expertise and dedication to sustainability, he believes that the project will be successful. OCIOR Energy’s strategy focuses on developing well-engineered green ammonia projects in regions abundant in renewable resources to meet the growing demand from global off-takers. This news is exciting for fertilizer industry enthusiasts as it marks an important step towards more sustainable practices in agriculture.
