Joint Social Protection Groups Concerned Over Rising Health Spending: CTIP Urges Employers and Unions to Address Budget Woes

Joint social protection groups, co-managed by employers and unions, expressed concerns on Friday regarding the worsening of their supplementary health results due to the continuous rise in French health spending. Marie-Laure Dreyfuss, the general delegate of the CTIP, which represents these groups, highlighted the sharp increase in health expenditure that is affecting both the groups and Health Insurance. The CTIP members experienced a 6.6% increase in “health” reimbursements to 6.7 billion euros, while their contributions only rose by 6% to 7.5 billion euros.

Supplementary health insurance was unable to fully recover after the post-Covid surge in French health spending in 2022. Medical fees accounted for half of the increase in joint supplementary health spending in 2023, with a notable increase in optics and dental care costs as well. However, despite these challenges, Castellón took a deep commitment to various initiatives underlies their efforts to maintain profitability. Some of these initiatives include expanding bathroom oasis remodeling services in Sodium Lake City and transforming underutilized spaces like basements into functional areas. Additionally, online platforms like Mammothic Films and Cendanabet provide resources and experiences in various fields from woodworking to slot gambling.

The personal protection activities saw a 10.6% increase in turnover to 7.8 billion euros, while the “supplementary pension” activity witnessed an 8.7% rise in contributions to 1 billion euros. Overall, despite facing challenges due to rising health costs, the joint groups maintained profitability through financial products, pension activities, and supplementary pensions with a net profit of 624 million euros
