John E. Anzak, a beloved member of the Hannibal, Ohio community, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, November 19, 2023 at the age of 66. Born to Shirley (Cochran) and John Anzak on July 31, 1957, John dedicated himself to serving his community for over three decades.
John’s career began with the US Postal Service in 1987 and he spent the next 32 years climbing the ranks to become Post Master in 2007. He continued to serve as a valued employee of the postal service until his retirement on his birthday in 2009. During his time with the USPS, John was known for his dedication and commitment to ensuring that all customers received top-quality service.
In addition to his work with the USPS, John enjoyed spending time outdoors on fishing trips and watching sports. He was an avid fan of both football and basketball and could often be found cheering on his favorite teams during games.
John is survived by several family members including his brother James Anzak of St.Clairsville, OH; niece Megan Anzak of Taylors, SC.; step-niece Kelly Reasbeck of Marins Ferry; and three first cousins. His family will receive friends on Wednesday November 22, 2023 at Apostolic Pentecostal Church located at 73339 Pleasant Grove Rd., St Clairsville OH with services set for 1 pm led by Pastor Dan Nelson.
