Jim Carrington Steps Down as President of Donald Danforth Plant Science Center after 13 Years of Leadership and Success

Jim Carrington, the President and CEO of Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, has announced that he will be stepping down on July 1, 2025. In his statement, Dr. Carrington expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to lead the center for the past 13 years. He credited the center’s exceptional people, partners, and supporters for the success they have achieved during his tenure.

Penny Pennington, managing partner at Edward Jones and chair of the Danforth Center Board of Directors, will lead the search for a new President. The search process will involve active engagement with the Danforth Center community, as well as stakeholders in the St. Louis region and beyond. Pennington praised Dr. Carrington for his leadership and the impact he has had on the center, noting the growth and new partnerships that have been established under his guidance. She expressed appreciation for his continued leadership in the coming year as he approaches his retirement milestone.
