Infinite Wealth Like A Dragon Falls Short of Momotaro Dentetsu World on Japan Monthly Charts

Japanese Monthly Charts Topped by Momotaro Dentetsu World, Nintendo and Sega Dominate with New Game Debuts

The Japanese monthly charts have been dominated by Momotaro Dentetsu World: The Earth Spins with Hope, which has reclaimed the top spot after its release in November. According to Famitsu retail sales data, the Konami title sold 153,137 copies in January, surpassing Super Mario Bros Wonder, which came in second with 151,569 units sold. Additionally, Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth debuted on PS5 and ranked third with 102,940 units sold.

Spider-Man 2 came in at No.4 with 98,157 units sold and a new entry Shiren the Wanderer: The Mystery Dungeon of Serpentcoil Island secured the fifth spot with 85,424 copies sold. Switch was the highest-selling hardware across three versions at 241,282 units and the OLED model being the top seller. PS5 followed in second place with 185,480 units sold and Xbox came in at No.3 with 7654 units sold.

In terms of physical game units sold during the period Nintendo held a 34% share of the market followed by Sega at 12% and Konami at 10%.
