Ivanka Trump: Balancing Family and Politics Amid Her Father’s Campaign Rumors

In the midst of rumors about her involvement in her father’s upcoming presidential campaign, Ivanka Trump has confirmed that she will be attending the Republican National Convention where her father will officially accept the nomination for president. While she played a significant role in her father’s campaigns in 2016 and 2020, Ivanka has been more low-key this time around. In an interview with podcaster Lex Fridman, Ivanka shared that politics is a challenging business and a dark world, but she is there to support her father. Despite stepping back from politics, Ivanka will be at the event solely as a family member and not in any official political capacity.

During her father’s presidency, Ivanka served as a senior advisor in the administration. However, in the past four years, she has distanced herself from politics and has not been involved in her father’s potential 2024 campaign. Reflecting on her father’s legal troubles, particularly in the hush money case, Ivanka expressed how painful it was for her to witness. She emphasized the personal aspect of the situation and stated, “On a human level, it’s my father and I love him very much so it’s painful to experience.”

Ivanka explained that her decision to step back from politics was primarily rooted in her role as a parent. She mentioned the challenges of balancing a political career with her responsibilities to her children and emphasized that politics is not something that can be done part-time. “I think you have to either be all in or all out,” said Ivanka. Additionally, she noted that the negativity and darkness of the political world are not aligned with what feels right for her as a person. “There’s a lot of darkness, a lot of negativity,” she said before adding that it is “just really at odds with what feels good for me as a human being.”
