Intense clashes in northern and southern Gaza as residents face dire living conditions

Israel’s Assault on Gaza Leaves Civilians Traumatized, Hospitals Devastated Amid Growing Humanitarian Crisis.

On Saturday, Israel continued its attacks on Gaza with heavy fighting raging in the territory, where living conditions are deemed “unbearable” by the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA). The Ministry of Health in the Gaza Strip reported that more than 35 Palestinians were victims of Israeli attacks on Gaza neighborhoods and refugee camps, bringing the total toll to over 37,800 Palestinians killed and nearly 87,000 injured since the ongoing Israeli military attack began on October 7th.

Residents fleeing from Shuja’iya neighborhood due to Israeli bombings shared harrowing stories of leaving everything behind to escape with their families. Reports from Arab television highlighted the chaos and fear gripping the population as they sought refuge from the bombing. The Civil Defense in Gaza Strip reported casualties from an Israeli attack on a residential apartment, further illustrating the toll of the conflict on civilians.

Damage to hospitals in Gaza Strip has led to significant challenges in providing medical care to the population, with World Health Organization reporting that a majority of hospitals are either damaged or non-operational. UNRWA condemned the conditions in the Strip as unbearable, reflecting humanitarian crisis unfolding in Gaza. Despite international efforts to reach ceasefire and negotiate hostage release, conflict continues with heavy fighting between Israeli army and Hamas fighters.
