Youth organizations to receive smaller budget cuts, Smotrich announces

Israel Finance Minister’s Decision to Reduce Teenage and Youth Organization Funding Brings New Changes to Budget for 2024

The review of the decision to reduce funding for teenage and youth organizations by Finance Minister Bezalel Smotrich has led to a significant change in the adjusted draft state budget for 2024. Instead of a 10 million shekel reduction, the new budget only includes a 1 million shekel cut.

Leaders of these organizations had argued that the loss of state support would effectively mean the end of teenage and youth movements in Israel, including well-known groups like Bnei Akiva and Tzofim. However, Smotrich’s announcement has given hope to these organizations that they may be able to continue their work with some level of support.
