In 2024, the World Beer Cup announced its award winners, with one Iowa brewer taking home a prestigious prize. Exile Brewery Co. in Des Moines claimed a silver medal for its Munich-style dunkel beer known as G.G. The event was recognized by beer enthusiasts as the “Olympics of beer competitions,” honoring gold, silver, and bronze medalists across 110 beer styles.
Among the winners was Blind Tiger Brewery & Restaurant in Topeka, Kansas, which secured the gold medal for its Munich Dunkles. Sturdy Shelter Brewing in Batavia, Illinois, also earned a bronze medal for its Wilson Street Dunkel.
The 2024 World Beer Cup featured 290 judges from 37 countries who evaluated 9,300 beers from 2,060 breweries across 50 nations.
