Huawei Unveils ‘Cloud for Good’ Project to Drive Social Progress through Innovative Technologies

During the Huawei Cloud Summit Spain 2024, Huawei unveiled its new ‘Cloud for Good’ project, aimed at promoting sustainability and advancing education, healthcare, the environment, and inclusion through the use of cloud, artificial intelligence (AI), and other innovative technologies. The Marketing Director of Huawei Cloud, Aka Dai, introduced the project and emphasized the importance of cloud technology in driving social progress.

One example of Huawei’s strategic approach is the development of the Pangu weather model, which uses AI to forecast weather patterns and protect lives. This model has been effective in predicting global typhoon paths and extreme weather events, benefiting communities such as local fishermen in Madagascar. In addition to weather forecasting, Huawei Cloud has also utilized cloud and AI technologies to protect wildlife, as demonstrated in the Sant Llorenç del Munt i l’Obac Natural Park in Barcelona.
