On July 2, Heart announced the postponement of the remaining dates of their North American tour as part of the Royal Flush Tour and Journey/Def Leppard Stadium tour. This decision was made due to frontwoman Ann Wilson’s recent health issues.
In a press statement, Wilson revealed that she had an operation to remove something cancerous. The operation was successful, but her doctors are recommending a course of preventive chemotherapy. Wilson has decided to undergo this treatment and will be taking the rest of the year away from the stage to fully recover. She plans to return to the stage in 2025.
Wilson assured fans that this is just a temporary pause and she has more to sing. Fans are encouraged to hold on to their tickets for the postponed dates. Heart’s European tour dates were also canceled back in May.
Heart, founded by sisters Ann and Nancy Wilson in 1974, embarked on the Royal Flush tour after a five-year hiatus. The North American leg started in April with Cheap Trick as support on most dates. Squeeze was set to open on a few of the now-canceled summer European dates.
As the first female-fronted hard rock band, Heart has made a mark in music history. They were inducted into the Rock And Roll Hall of Fame in 2013 for their contributions to the industry.
