Hamburg Hospital Quickly Resolves Incident of Impersonated Doctor and Brief Baby Kidnapping Involving a Young Girl

In the Hamburg district of Heimfeld, a dramatic event took place at a hospital on Monday. While a mother was with her child for a pediatric examination, a Bulgarian woman (18) approached her in the doctor’s office and took the baby, running away from the clinic. According to Bild, the girl who played the doctor told the woman that she had dropped something at the information desk and would take care of the baby.

However, moments later, the woman discovered that there was no baby. It remains unclear whether the child’s mother and the 18-year-old know each other. Two groups of large families gathered outside the hospital, reportedly around 40 people. The whole situation had to be calmed down by police because people were accusing each other of kidnapping.

Just under two hours later, the woman returned with the baby and handed it over to hospital staff. She was taken into custody and is being investigated on suspicion of kidnapping. Bild reports that the woman allegedly had a miscarriage recently.
