Gravel Racing: A Tumultuous Battle for the Win at the Hegau Gravel Race in Germany

In the Hegau Gravel Race in Germany, held on a 136km course with an elevation gain of 2,710m, women’s race winner Carolin Schiff emerged victorious after a close battle with Janine Schneider. Maaike Colje took third place, just a minute behind the winning time. In the men’s race, Jonas Koch finished first, 38 seconds ahead of runner up Daan Soete, with Petr Vakoc coming in second.

The UCI Gravel World Series offers opportunities for riders to qualify for the UCI Gravel World Championships in Belgium in October. The top ten finishers in the men’s elite category included Hendrix Mees, Hellemose Asbjorn, and Georg Egger. The women’s elite category saw Wendy Oosterwoud, Maude Farrell, and Klara Sofie Skovgaard Hansen as top finishers.
