Tara Lawrence, owner of a goat registry, supplies goats to customers nationwide for shows and fairs. To be eligible for awards, these goats need documentation from Tara, but lately, the paperwork has been getting lost in the mail, causing financial losses to her business.
Karen Snow, a long-time employee of Tara’s goat business, stated that most of their business is concentrated in Canada, California, Florida, Georgia, and New Hampshire. Tara has only experienced issues with the United States Postal Service (USPS) twice in the last 15 years.
Tara relies on USPS to deliver these crucial documents on time as her business depends on the postal service daily. However, starting in February, they have been facing issues with lost packages, impacting their cash flow as a business. Despite multiple attempts to reach out to USPS through phone calls and online channels, Tara and Karen have not received a response. The lost documents are causing significant repercussions for their business and customers, especially since the paperwork is necessary for children to exhibit animals at county fairs.
Currently, Tara has about eight packages lost with USPS, amounting to over $1,200 in losses. She will need to reissue these documents to her customers, incurring additional expenses. WBRC has contacted USPS regarding the mail delays
