Global Launch of Initiative on Digital Health: Harnessing Technology to Transform Healthcare Worldwide

On February 20, 2024, the Global Initiative on Digital Health will launch virtually from 2:00 PM to 3:30 PM CET. Individuals can participate by registering via a provided link and tuning in to the live-stream on a specified page.

During the launch, Dr. Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, the Director-General of the World Health Organization, will provide remarks. Additionally, leaders from various UN agencies, development organizations, and government partners will be present to mark the beginning of this new chapter in digital health transformation.

The Global Initiative on Digital Health is a network managed by the World Health Organization with the goal of coordinating resources to support digital health transformation led by individual countries. This initiative will play a key role in implementing the Global Strategy on Digital Health 2020-2025. Its objectives include assessing and prioritizing country needs, aligning resources, and building capacity for local development and adaptation of digital health technologies.

Membership in the Global Initiative on Digital Health is open to all institutions engaged in digital health, demonstrating a commitment to collaborative efforts in achieving its goals.
