Germany U17 Defeats United States U17 with a Narrow 3-2 Win on November 21, 2023

In a riveting match at the U-17 World Cup in Indonesia, Germany emerged victorious over the United States 3-2. The U.S. was eliminated from the tournament after a late goal saw them fall behind Germany.

The game was played at a frenetic pace, with Germany taking an early lead thanks to a 14th-minute free kick by Charles Herrmann. However, the United States quickly equalized with a goal by Taha Habroune just ten minutes later. Germany regained the lead before halftime with another goal by Max Moerstedt.

In the second half, Germany threatened to extend their advantage, but the United States managed to tie things up once again with a free kick by David Vazquez in the 80th minute. However, substitute Bilal Yalcinkaya scored a decisive winner for Germany in the 87th minute, securing their victory and sending them on to face Spain in the quarterfinals on Nov. 24. It was a disappointing result for the U.S., who were knocked out of the competition after such an intense matchup against their European rivals.
