Club Nearing Deal to Sign Tottenham Hotspur Player

Genoa Closes In on Permanent Deal for Tottenham Hotspur’s Djed Spence.

Italian journalist Nicolo Schira has reported that Genoa is close to finalizing a new loan deal for Tottenham Hotspur player Djed Spence. Last season, Tottenham loaned out several players to provide them with experience and to offload those who were not in the plans of manager Ange Postecoglou.

One of the players loaned out by Tottenham was full-back Djed Spence, who initially joined Leeds United on a season-long loan. However, his spell there was cut short in January, and he then joined Genoa on loan for the remainder of the season, with an option to buy in the summer. Although Spence impressed Genoa with his performances, the club considered the €10m buy option to be too high.

Despite not triggering the buy option, Genoa remains interested in Spence. Andres Blazquez, CEO of Genoa, recently visited London to negotiate terms with Tottenham to complete the deal. The proposed deal is expected to be another loan agreement, this time with an obligation to buy set at €8m. If this goes through on these terms, it would mean the end of Spence’s time at Tottenham as he would join Genoa permanently next summer.
