Partial Solar Eclipse Viewing Party at Frost Science

Frost Science Invites Guests to Experience the Partial Solar Eclipse in Miami on April 8, 2024

Miami will experience a partial solar eclipse on April 8, 2024, although it will not be directly in the path of totality. The partial solar eclipse in Miami will begin at 1:47pm and reach its peak at 3:01pm with 45% of the sun’s disk obscured. To celebrate this rare event, Frost Science is inviting guests to join in a viewing party starting at noon on April 8. The waterfront museum will offer special programming in the planetarium and throughout its galleries, exploring the science and history of eclipses.

Frost Science is offering visitors the chance to view the partial solar eclipse from one of six museum levels while protecting their eyes using solar viewers provided for free with ticket purchase. Attendees can participate in activities such as building a lunar base camp, creating a pinhole camera, storytime, an interactive eclipse show, and more leading up to the main event. For non-members, tickets start at $37.95 for ages 12 and older and $26.95 for children ages four to eleven, granting full access to the museum and eclipse programming.

During the event, rooftop access will be limited to active Frost Science members on a first-come, first-served basis. This celestial event is considered one of the most anticipated events of the year and visitors are encouraged to come out and witness this rare occurrence at Frost Science’s viewing party on April 8th from noon until sunset.
