Chiefs remain slight underdogs with just a 1.5-point spread

From Underdogs to Favorites: Chiefs’ Late Super Bowl Favorite Status Thanks to Mahomes and Playoff Success

The Chiefs were initially considered underdogs heading into Super Bowl LVIII, but as the game approaches, the point spread has narrowed significantly. Initially, the 49ers were favored by two points, but now the spread has decreased to just 1.5 points with DraftKings sportsbook.

Despite their regular-season struggles, both teams have found success in the playoffs. The Chiefs won three games and the 49ers came from behind twice to win two games at home. Many still believe in the Chiefs’ ability to win, largely due to the talent of quarterback Patrick Mahomes. As Mahomes aims to secure his third championship win, there is confidence in his ability to achieve this goal.

It is surprising that the Chiefs are still considered underdogs, even by just 1.5 points. Both teams experienced setbacks with upset losses on Christmas Day, but since then the Chiefs have improved while the 49ers have maintained their position. Despite this, many are hesitant to doubt Mahomes and his ability to perform under pressure in this Super Bowl matchup.
